Ana Quincoces Rodriguez grew up in a Cuban household in sunny Miami, Florida, where she was routinely conscripted to help her mother in the kitchen, which led to her passion for the art of cooking. Rodriguez has appeared in several magazines and newspapers as a result of the success of her first, self-published, book, Cuban Chicks Can Cook. She lives in Miami, Florida with her husband and two teenage daughters.

Authentic Cuban cuisine delivered in witty and clever way!

Growing up in a Cuban household, and raised on Cuban food means you have high expectations when it comes to that particular cuisine. More often than not one will come upon a "Cuban cook book",open the book to pages which contain an "alternative" or reconfiguration to the foods created by the Cuban masters of the past. Ana brings to the audience an authentic Cuban experience with her book. Not only are the recipes included the same as familial recipes of my own and other Cuban families. She brings humor along with her own experience of growing up Cuban. This by far surpasses any other Cuban cookbook I have purchased, and is also the best in the English language. If you have been searching for a book with authentic recipes to delight your guests, look no further, this has all the Cuban favorites!

Good Looking Author, Great Looking Food

This is definitely a vehicle to launch next TV Food star. Very attractive author, an exotic but familar cuisine.
Recipes here are very meat oriented: chicken, fish, pork, and beef. Not spicy, only a red/green bell pepper here and there. Lots of rice and beans with garlic and onion, very straight forward. If you like basic Italian and Mexican cuisine you will find a lot to like here, and some new tastes. Everything from soups, entrees, side dishes, desserts, and drinks are well covered.
These recipes could easily be your secret weapon to redeem the same old meat and potatoes without alienating the unadventureous.
Best of all, the food shots are full color excellent, aspiring, and inspiring, kudos to the photographer and food stylist.

This book is the best Cuban cuisine cookbook I have purchased ever! I have an extensive library of cookbooks and I especially love the Cuban cuisine books since I am of Cuban heritage. The recipes are very authentic, just as my mother, aunts and grandmother made in their kitchens. The book is very "homey" and down to earth. The recipes are what you would see served in a typical Cuban home. I finally found the Cuban cookbook I had been searching for!
